GM Nationals, Carlisle PA
I left Fri. morning and met up with 5 other LiSSt members to caravan over to Carlisle, PA. It was a beautiful day and the trip took us 4 hours with a stop for gas. During the stop someone who will remain nameless got locked out of his car. We were able to get him back in with a coat hanger. Luckily the car was running so we were able to open the car by triggering the window switch. We spent the afternoon at the fairgrounds registering and enjoying the cars and people. Saturday was the best day of all!! It was very hot & busy. We got a chance to meet Jon Moss, the creator of the 94-96 Impala SS. He signed our trunk lids and other paraphanalia. He was truly a nice guy. They had GM Concept & Specialty Cars on display. There were a lot of vendors and cars for sale. They put on a nice showing of the Camaro throughout the years. Most exciting was Jon Moss driving his 572 in. big block Camaro. Wow, did that sound cool!! The unveiling of the 35th Anniversary Camaro was more exciting with the car covered in white paper. But once they removed the paper it was disappointing with nothing apparently different from the 2001 model year. Oh well, I guess GM is letting the Camaro/Firebird line die and doesn't want to allocate any more $$ to the F-Body line. What a disappointment!! It was a very successful turnout with a very large Nova group having 100 cars present.

While Carlisle had it's own voting going on we at GNISSC had 5 trophies. The winners were:
Peoples Choice: Mike & Rosemary Kender 95 DCM (CT-Tri 9)
Most Likely To Get Pulled Over: Victor Caban's 96 DCM (LiSSt) & He did on the way home for having the Red SSled Bowtie lit
Longest Haul: Marty Hamer (GASSIT) Atlanta, GA.
Club Participation: POSSI with 13
Go Kart Racing Winner: Rick ?, friend of Bill Karpin

Then on Sunday Carlisle had its award ceremony. In the 91 & up full size Chevy class went to Joe Nerz's 94 Caprice. In the 94-95 Impala SS class: 1st - Mike Kender's 95 DCM, 2nd - Marty Hammer's 95 BBB, 3rd - Mark Holobigian's 95 BBB. 96 Impala SS class: 1st - Victor Caban's DCM, 2nd - Bob Rusnak's BBB, & 3rd - Marty Mogavero's BBB.

It was a terrific time with lots of stuff to do and see. Being that the show was in its first year next year should be even better!!
