The following graph shows executions by both Region of the Country and by Race. The South has conducted 52.1% of all the executions in the United States. They also have been executing people the longest (349 years in this study). The Central States have executed the fewest, 2.1% of the total. Racial disparage is almost obvious in the South and The Southwest. These are legal executions. This study doesn't include the thousands of lynchings that were most popular in The South.
