Tennessee's chairs
Tennessee:
2 chairs. The first was used from 1916-1960. The second was built by Fred
Leuchter in the 1980s, and has to date not been used, though it is available as
an option for any inmate sentenced to death before 1 January 1999.
Tennessee's electric chair was manufactured from the wood of the old state gallows which it replaced in 1916. Fred Leuchter used some of the original gallows lumber when he rebuilt the chair.
