Piccies
Here are some pictures that I have created using mostly
POV-Ray,
arrayed in no particular order. All images copyright ©1998-2005
by Peter C. Capasso except as otherwise noted.
Abstract47 Just an abstractly arranged collection of objects,
arranged against a checkered wall and a mirrored wall. The bright green
fog looks better against the blue sky than I had anticipated.
Melt_06 Another of those 4-d Julia fractals in pov-ray.
The interesting background was created by two non-uniformly scaled
bozo textures placed over a granite.
Blueclump Another of those 4-d Julia fractals in pov-ray.
I don't know why I keep working with them, as they are not really that
interesting and they tend to all kind of look the same. A friend of mine
is thinking of spending money on a 3d packaged merely because it has
these 4-d julia fractals in it. They're just not a big deal. They're
just not useful objects.
Miwall
Here are some strange CSG spheroids,
inspired by the povray art of
Friedemann Schmidt,
which are floating around over a textured floor. There is a mirror on
the back wall
Mandelview
After finally sorting out how to get a proper color map on a povray
mandelbrot texture without banding, I decided to somehow find a use
for this texture in povray. So here is a dude sitting in a techie
control room, exploring fractal space in full color.
Hway1133
A familiar hallway, somewhat remixed and altered from the original.
It took awhile to render: all of the light sources slowed
it down quite a bit. The small white knobby tectured things near
the top of the left wall are modeled from polyfoam packing material
that a printer came in.
De_floor2
I was checking out
Friedemann Schmidt's
excellent collection of pov ray renders
when I saw a very interesting floor texture. After about six months I finally figured out
how he did it. So I made a floor with this texture. Then I added the sky and the
foreground objects.
Kur_track_01
A nice dark blue abstract. Not much else to say about it. I used this as a
background picture on my desktop for over a week.
