Album Reviews

Hardest Hits, Vol 3, by SPG Music
Rating: major thumbs down

This album is a collection of obscure tunes from the 1980's New Wave movement, including the elusive "Baby Judy" by the Hawaiian Pups. Unfortunately, this album has problems. The intro and the end of "Baby Judy" have been truncated. The version of Vicious Pink's "C-c-cant you see" has been remixed, probably several years after the original release. This remix replaces one of the synth riffs with a sampled synth sound that is not nearly as effective. Also: the minute-long rythmless ambient section tacked on to the end is completely lame.
Folks: let's face it, there is only one company that has the integrity to put out 80's New Wave tunes without butchering them: Rhino Records. Accept no substitutes.
