The McAndrews Estate or Reussens Farms is located in nearby Crugers, about 15 minutes north of Croton.
Once a grand estate rivaling Boscobel in splendor, its owners fell on hard times and the property was
condemned by Westchester County in 1965. It became a meeting place for mischevious teens, and the county razed the buildings
shortly after acquiring it.

Today, it is an "unimproved county park", which means it is essentially a wilderness which is fun and challenging to explore. (A word or warning: Dress for bushwacking. The area is very overgrown. You also have to be careful of where you put your feet because there are holes in the ground from uprooted trees, cisterns, foundations of outbuildings, etc.)
If you fancy yourself an amateur archaeologist or detective, Reussens is the
place for you. You can tramp across the property trying to figure out
what the many ruins used to be. Some of the things you'll see are a huge fountain,
a horseback riding track, stone walls galore, and a
strange structure which my friends and I call the "Castle". (See the second photo on this page.)
There are a few easy trails which skirt the railroad ponds on the edge of the property, but if you leave the paths, the hiking is strenuous.
