Preserve Putnam County is working with the County of Putnam to create a public park with welcome center and historical museum at the corner of Fair Street and Route 52 in downtown Hamlet of Carmel. This public/private partnership sets a precedent for collaborative efforts in developing a center for cultural activities and creating a new green space in a business district. Anticipated opening for Cornerstone Park is 2003.
