Supporting preservation of Putnam County, NY’s historic landscapes and buildings through collaborative partnerships.

A private family-initiated not-for-profit educational organization established in 1999 to foster preservation of the historic architectural character and natural environment of Putnam County, NY, the Society for the Preservation of Putnam County Antiquities and Greenways, Inc. operates under the name “Preserve Putnam County.” [ see Mission ]

Preserve Putnam County (PPC) works with non-profit organizations and government agencies that are engaged in activities that foster preservation of our built, natural and historic environments. [ see Links ] PPC encourages the granting of restrictive easements and maintenance and restoration of historic dwellings, buildings and architecturally significant properties of Putnam County, New York in furtherance of such charitable and educational purposes.

PPC activities provide public benefit in its restoration and preservation activities through educational programs that provide access to our County’s historic resources.

Our Mission Statement!

Art and Educational Exhibits
Creation of an exhibition program bringing art and history to the facility at Cornerstone Park, corner of Fair Street and Route 52 in Carmel, NY upon its opening.

County History
Assisting groups preserve  artifacts and educate the public on our local history.

Architectural Heritage
Through financial support enable for the preservation of important architectural structures in Putnam County.

Green Space
Encourage the protection and enhancement of public green spaces in Putnam County, New York.
