The Sheriff

Weaks/SeaTrout fisherman
Frustrated by the number of times you hook weakfish (a.k.a. SeaTrout) but can't get them into the boat because the hook pulls free?
Weakfish are notorious for their soft (weak) mouths, hence the name Weakfish. Many of them are what are called 'short strikers'. They do not take enough of the bait into their mouth to make the hook set properly. I designed a jig that uses a two toned worm that gets their attention and added a second hook that is inserted into the worm at the tail to hook those short strikers. You add a thin squid strip that equals the length of the worm to the main hook.

Surf Fishermen The Sheriff is used over channel edges , rock piles and bridge abutments and just about anywhere Bass/Drum/Weaks/Trout lie up. They are also super when Bonita, Blues, Mackerel come charging into the shallows. Keep that trailor hook covered with a strip of Mack belly as a special attracting odor. Short lifts to either side during the retrieve is the way to go.

The Sheriff is a Weakfish, Stripers, Blues, and Fluke killer. Hand tied with a two toned worm. Nothing escapes it! Add a piece of squid the length of the worm to catch 'short biters'.

The 1 ounce Sheriff has a 5/0 main hook and a 1/0 trailer hook.

Each rig comes with an extra worm to keep you fishing when the bite is HOT! Use 2 ft of 20-30 lb test leader line to help protect against those little sharp teeth.  Hint: Lift these rigs gently in 10 inch long pulls keeping them in the strike zone.

The Sheriff works great for surfcasting, too.

Sheriff rigs are sold in packages of 3 for $13.00, (PAYPAL not available for international orders. Use order form and check instead. Contact me for intl shipping charges.)
