Inshore/Bottom Fishing System

  This Bottom special is a SYSTEM, that WILL catch all big ones. If you want small 3-4 pound fish, go somewhere else. These are used for 5+ pound fish.

Package contains:

• 3- DOORMATTERS. These rigs are made for drifting shallow waters of a bay, estuary or channel edge. They have a special squid body that is kept open by color matched beads that setup a 4/0 Khale hook in the right positon...in the squid's tentacles. Put a thin strip of squid or fillet AND a live MUD MINNOW and you're in business. Drift this rig in waters less than 9 feet deep. This way that monster will have nothing but hook, right in its jaw.

•  4- SUPER DOORMATTERS. Each rig has it's own custom colored squid lure behind it's specially CURVED spinner blade. This will send out that special deep sound that gets those huge DOORMATTS up off the bottom and pursuing your bait.

   The colors on these DOORMAT killers are: Sand Eel, Spearing, Excited baby Squid, Glow. These standard colors will get you right into the action and turn on those monster flatfish. WARNING...WARNING...WARNING... remember to tie onto your main line AT LEAST 8 inches ABOVE the sinker. That way you'll present this rig to more and bigger fish. Why? 'Cause these fish are PRIMARILY sight feeders first. HINT...HINT...HINT...

  A.) use a strip of squid or fillet at least 8 inches long.

  B.) Hook the larget Killie/Mud Minnow this way. Up from below behind the jaw and out NEXT to it's eye. Why? 'Cause that way the minnow will jerk and thrash, sending out a sound that huge Flatfish can't resist.

•  3- DOORMATTER EXPRESS Rigs. A chrome weighted ball with a drooper loop above the ball. On the loop is a SPECIAL T'Zer lure that adds that special flash to your bait. The bottom hook will have it's own hackle that breathes and adds life to this bait . Different weights (3oz, 5oz, 8oz) on these will cover the full spectrum of your fishing needs. You can fish this rig a number of ways, determined by the time of year.

  In the spring , sslloowwllyy raise this rig about 10 inches above the bottom and drop back again, repeating this 'til that monster sucks your rig down.
  In summer, as the water warms,
  A.) raise above the bottom about 10 inches and jig quickly in 3 inch jigs OR
  B.) drop to bottom and vigorously bounce it on the bottom in 3 inch bounces.

  Why the difference? 'Cause in the spring those slob fish are finished spawning and are tired and the water's cold. THEY WILL NOT CHASE A FAST MOVING BAIT.

  The bait to use with this rig is a small 5 inch squid or fillet strip on the top hook and at least 3(three) spearing. HINT...HINT...HINT... Put them on the hook sideways, so that their bright sides will flash as you jig this rig. On the bottom hook, repeat the with the same bait .

  Together with the SUPER DOORMATTER above or used alone, this system was developed by commercial pin hookers for the live restaurant trade. The fish had to be over 5 pounds!

• 3- STAR Rigs. Each one has a one (1) ounce head color matched to the plastic tails in the colors that entice them to wack these rigs. They are pure fish catching MAGIC. HINT...HINT...HINT... Add a small 1/4 x 3 inch strip of squid to the hook and that will add that special scent to this fish catching rig.

   You use these rigs in skinny water, and I mean skinny water. I've cast them up onto a beach and twitched them down into deeper water. Why? 'Cause all fish will orient themselves, looking up towards shallow water. Why? 'Cause that's where their food will be washed to them. Structure...structure..structure...as in the edge of a sandbar, channel edge, pier leg, bridge abutment.

You also fish this by dropping down next to structure and bounce in 2 inch jumps about 1 foot above the bottom. When the fish hits, DON'T HESITATE. Hit him with all you have or he'll spit the rig out. What else hits this rig? Re read the above WARNING.
