I've been building and testing this rig for far too long. It's been a secret held by the by the sharpies for far too long. Now it's AVAILABLE to EVERYONE.
Take a close look at the head:
It’s a 1 ounce head, 1 1/2 inches long. It has a MUSTAD 34184D 2x strong hook in 7/0 size,. The eye sits ATOP of the CUSTOM made head. Easy to rig and PROTECTS YOUR LINE from those TOOTHY CRITTERS.
I have DESIGNED and BUILT this HEAD. It has a flat topped surface that tapers down in a great curve thru its sides to a FULL drop down BELLY that gives the Eel its HOT...HOT...HOT...ACTION. Now add in ONE OF MY SPECIAL PREDATOR ATTRACTING TAILS and you're in business.The whole rig is 9 1/2 inches long.
It casts like a bullet, straight and true.
It can be speed retrieved.
It can be SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY!!!
It can be JIGGED right in front of ANY predator.
It can be made to SLIP , SLIDE , WOBBLE , DROP , SPLASH 'N TRASH the WATER SURFACE.
I've INCLUDED an EXTRA TAIL to KEEP fishing when the bite is HOT...HOT...HOT... Ever been FRUSTRATED 'Cause that LAST predator has bitten off your tail? YEAH, I've been there. That's why THAT EXTRA TAIL IS INCLUDED !
Now, I've made this rig up in different colors. WHY? 'Cause the MOON and SKY and SEA conditions determine what you THROW or TROLL, THAT'S WHY !SURF FISHERMEN - BACK WATER SHALLOWS - JETTY JOCKIES
WIND and WEATHER conditions DEMAND a change in TAIL/HEAD colors.
CHARTREUSE/GREEN = BRIGHT DAYS , deep holes , grassy bottom
BLACK/CHARTREUSE = O/CAST DAYS , shallow clean bottom
BLACK/PINK = ROILED WATER , little or NO bite
BLACK/DUSKY = NIGHT, calm water , no wind
NATURAL (BROWN/LIGHT BROWN) = EVENING, jetty and any structure.
Each of the above color combination comes with a COLOR CORRECTED HEAD.
SURF guys listen up.
Work these colors from ACROSS that surf bar so it SLIDES OVER and DOWN the front of the bar.
WORK these color combos ALONG the EDGES of BREAKS on that BAR.
WORK the CHARTREUSE colors from deep to SHALLOW INSIDE the SURF BAR DOWN CURRENT into all that DIRTY WATER.
HINT...HINT...HINT... SSSLLLOOOWWW retrieve. SLIDE this RIG up and down on your retrieve OCCASIONALLY JERKING the rod TIP UP about 10 inches. That will give an ADDED SIDE SLIDE that turns on ANY PREDATOR.
ANOTHER HINT...HINT...HINT... SHALLOW BACKWATER fishermen , QUIET is the key here. CAST UPTIDE, UPWIND, so this rig SLIDES...SLIDES...SLIDES... ACROSS and IN FRONT of that SCHOOL of tailing fish.
JETTY JOCKIES
Cast this rig out and ACROSS that O/going tide. Let this rig dive to the bottom as it glides on that O/Going tide. NOW , move the rig UP and ACROSS the FACE of the JETTY SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYY as it come up and ACROSS those rocks. YOUWZA!
HINT...HINT...HINT...Work the TIP and the HOLE on the O/GOING TIDE JETTY. That's where most fish will lay up on a strong tide.
HINT...HINT...HINT.... Fish this hole the last hour of that O/going tide and the ½ hour of the In/coming.
NEARSHORE guys listen up
Troll this lure NO faster than 3 knots UP current. Three(3) knots Down current. Three(3) knots ACROSS the waves and across the current.
If you can get 30 yards from the inshore SANDBAR, then troll or cast onto the bar and thru the sand bar opening. Troll ALONG the sandbar EDGES in about 5-10 feet of water. Run this rig about 50 back BEHIND the boat.
WARNING...WARNING...WARNING... TWO(2) guys should be on the boat. ONE to run the boat, the OTHER to catch the fish.
WARNING...WARNING...WARNING... Make sure you watch the wave. ALWAYS keep to the OUTSIDE , DOWN current of the seas. NEVER work this are on windy, surf breaking conditions.
FISHING the deeper waters nearshore, TROLL or CAST this rig UNDER diving birds or ACROSS RIP LINES. NEVER troll THRU DIVING BIRDS
OFFSHORE TROLLERS listen up
TROLL THIS OFF an O/RIGGER and back as far as you can to make the TAIL SPLASH and TRASH the seas surface. This is prime for TUNA and SAILS.
TROLL this lure BEHIND a TEASER BIRD and back in the 6-9th wake waves for MARLIN and BLACKFIN TUNA.
