Oval Living

This steel framed oval living room will be roofed with an oblique sloped wood ceiling.  Diagonal shear members are unnecessary, as the oval cage form naturally resists lateral forces.  

From the interior the oval cage mimics the tree trunk forms, allowing the floor and ceiling plains to float in the landscape.  The oval footprint is simply set on the natural topography, so that the visual flow of the upslope woodlands descends naturally to the water.  The thin vertical members of the oval cage allow unobstructed views of the horizon.
