Simone
(Click on the image above to see a larger version).
This is an interactive program for live performance that I am working on.
Simone accepts MIDI data from an electronic instrument, audio data
from a microphone or gestural data from a video camera. In imrprovisation mode, Simone listens to a musician's
performance and uses its analysis of the features of what it hears to select
an appropriate algorithmic composition method. This method is then used to
compose new musical material that is different from the phrase performed by
the human musician. yet organically related to it.
Features:
Score follower
Real time analysis of incoming pitch, dynamics, and rhythm
Interactive mode for live improvisation
Nineteen compositional algorithms

Controls audio file playback
Controls MIDI file playback
Controls Quicktime movie playback
Built in virtual synthesizer (Hom-Tah 2.0 )
