Ongoing

Vestry - Parish House: on the third Wednesday each month, at 8 pm.
The Vestry is an elected lay board of 11 parish members. They make policy, legal and financial decisions for St. A's, and are responsible for both long-range vision and planning as well as the more day-to-day management of the church. Most Vestry members are elected to three-year terms.

Meals for the Peekskill Soup Kitchen - delivered on the fourth Thursday of each month.
Individual dishes are usually required to be dropped off at St. A's by 10 am on the Thursday in question. Questions about participating in this program should be directed to the group's Chair, Jill Mader, at gdmader@optonline.net.

EFM - Education For Ministry - Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., weekly.
EFM is based on the belief that every Christian receives the call to Christ's ministry at baptism. EFM, a distance learning program of the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, provides the basics of a theological education in order to develop knowledge and confidence about the ministry we all share. Completion of the program takes four years, during which participants study the Bible, church history, and twentieth century theology. Participants commit one year at a time to meet regularly in seminars led by a trained mentor.

The mentor leads each seminar group of six to twelve students. The group meets weekly during a nine-month cycle to reflect theologically, discuss the materials they have read, and to worship together. Preparation outside of class takes two to four hours per week, using the lesson and study guide provided. There are no tests or papers to write. EFM grants 18 hours of Continuing Education Units for each year of study. College credits are not granted.
The fee for an academic cycle is $340, payable to EFM. To assist those in need, a fee reduction provision is available, based on the enrollment of the group.

Please contact Penny Morgan at 271-9325 or email her at penelopemrgn@yahoo.com for more information about St. A's program. For more information about the program in general, visit the EFM - Education For Ministry website.

EFM requires prior registration.

Mailings to College Age Students -- Are you a parent or friend of a college student from St. A's? If so, send along that person's address to the parish office, and we will include him/her on our parish mailing list. They will receive the Bellringer and other updates to stay connected to our community.
